Hottest Halloween in Orlando Since before the Walt Disney Company was Founded

You wanted a cool, crisp, fall-like Halloween? Missed it by that much. Friday and Saturday are supposed to be blissfully cool and, dare we say, fall-like in Central Florida.

But not this Halloween. No, we had to go full summer and break a record that dates back to the Harding Administration. Orlando reached a high temperature Thursday of 91 degrees. That surpassed the previous record high of 90 degrees that was last set just before Walt Disney himself would have reached legal drinking age. Although technically that’s not even accurate, because Prohibition was in effect when the previous record was set in 1922. So let’s just say the last record was set about a year before the original Disney Brothers Studio opened.

But, to steal a phrase from Walt… “Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.” We have hints of fall to come… an approaching cold front will bring highs in the upper 70s (or maybe the very low 80s) and lows in the upper 60s for the next few nights. Which is just as well, because the Christmas decorations will be up in the parks any day now, and the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is just a week away.
