Water Parks Closed Ahead of Coldest Temps of the Season

As freeze watches loom just west of the Central Florida theme parks, the area’s water parks were all closed Monday during what might have normally been a busy holiday weekend. Granted it’s January… but let’s not forget that we were at a record-high 86 degrees just eight days ago.

Volcano Bay, Aquatica, Island H2O Live!, and Blizzard Beach were all closed on Monday and are expected to be closed through at least Wednesday. Typhoon Lagoon remains closed for refurbishment regardless of the weather. In one serendipitous bit of timing, the outdoor (and mostly shirtless) Disney’s Spirit of Aloha dinner show is closed this week for a pre-scheduled venue refurbishment. Otherwise, the later-evening shows there would have been in jeopardy, too.

The closures are not unexpected given the forecast. Temperatures in the Attractions area are expected to be hovering right around the freezing mark by Wednesday morning… and not recovering very much over the course of the week.

All indications are that it’s the perfect time to take everything out of the stock market and move your investments into Hot Butterbeer Futures.
