Rainy Holiday for Attractions Area; Flood Watch Monday (5/25)

Tropical moisture is expected to pour into the Attractions area on Memorial Day, dumping between two and four inches of rain across Central Florida… with maybe up to six inches along the coast. The point forecast specifically for the Attractions area estimates upwards of 2.75 inches of rain on Monday. A flood watch for Orange and Osceola Counties (among others) goes into effect on Monday morning and remains in place through Monday night. The same storm system may also put a damper on SpaceX’s plans to launch its first crewed flight from Cape Canaveral on Wednesday; the 45th Weather Squadron’s launch day forecast issued Saturday indicated a 60% chance of a “no-go” on launch day. The forecast will no doubt be tweaked in the days to come. In the meantime, Memorial day looks to be soggy for Central Florida.
