The National Weather Service says a weak tornado formed briefly just a few miles from LEGOLAND Florida on Sunday, causing minor damage in the Winter Haven area. The weak and brief tornado lasted only about a minute, knocking down trees and damaging roofs along a path less than 1.5 miles long and 50 yards wide. The damage was confined to homes around Spirit Lake and Eagle Lake; they’re about 3.5 miles from LEGOLAND and historic Cypress Gardens, which sit alongside nearby Lake Eloise. No injuries were reported, and we’ve seen no reports of damage inside the park.
