After a much-hyped opening (and after much hay was made of the ten-hour waits and the recurring closures), Universal Orlando Resort announced today that their newest attraction, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure will be opening at midday each day for the next couple of weeks.
Universal’s announcement made reference not only to the technical wizardry (sorry) needed to make the ride work… but also to numerous weather delays. And in their defense, it has been excessively rainy over the past few days. But you’d be forgiven for asking the question: if they’re not opening until the afternoon… and it tends to rain in the afternoon… then how the heck is anyone going to ride this thing?
Fortunately, Mother Nature may be on your side. The upcoming seven days look to be relatively dry after about Wednesday. NOAA’s Weather Prediction Center shows estimated total precipitation of about half-an-inch for the next seven days… but as always if you’re sitting under a particularly vigorous storm this all goes out the window.
National Weather Service’s latest forecast discussion puts rain chances as low as 20-30% by Friday, rebounding slightly back to a typical 30-40% pattern by the weekend. Between the lower rain chances and the later park hours (through 10PM most nights), hopefully you’ll be able to dodge the rain and the maintenance and get a few spins in.
