We’re in for a just darn unpleasant weekend in Central Florida. The relatively dry spell we mentioned earlier has had a side effect of letting temperatures soar, and as a result, the Heat Index is peaking too. The NWS’s National Digital Forecast Database is calling for the apparent temperature to be between 100° and 105° on Saturday afternoon, when you combine the actual heat with the humidity.
I’ll spare you the full “eat your vegetables” talk about how to prepare, but just drink a lot of water, ok? Even if you don’t think you’re thirsty. And find some shade.
Our earliest current hope for relief comes on Tuesday, when cloud cover and a higher rain chance will hopefully knock down the daytime temps a bit.
