‘Tis the Season. Tropical Storm Chantal is futzing away in the north Atlantic, and now the NHC is looking to our southeast for the next thing. There’s now a 20% chance of development with a storm system near the Bahamas. Even without development, it could be another rainmaker for Florida and for Castaway Cay. We’ll keep an eye on it, but it’s way too early to make any concrete assumptions about what it’s going to do.
Here’s the associated blurb in the National Hurricane Center’s 8AM Advisory:
An area of disturbed weather located over the central and northwestern Bahamas is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Some slow development of this system is possible over the next several days at it moves toward the Florida peninsula and then the southeastern United States. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.
