Oh, these chilly January Sundays. The high temperature in Orlando struggled to barely reach a record high temperature on January 12. No doubt all of the runners in the Walt Disney World Marathon on Sunday were welcoming the frigid temperatures, which reached a high of 86 in the afternoon, breaking a record first set 95 years ago and recently revisited in 1972. The heat index, which factors in the humidity to tell us how hot it really feels, reached at least 88 at one point in the day, making for absolutely perfect running weather. The marathon was briefly delayed wile snowplows cleared the route, but was able to get underway once emergency shipments of parkas were delivered by sled dog.
