The Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a marginal risk (risk level 1 of 5) of severe weather in the Attractions area on Thursday. The primary risk is isolated instances of damaging winds and one-inch hail, with a 5%-14% chance of those occurring within 25 miles of any given point in the risk area. The tornado risk is relatively low… less than 2%. The risk is being driven primarily by excessively hot temperatures and high humidity which, in addition to potentially stirring up storms, is also bringing heat indices nearing 108 degrees in some parts of the state.
