Josephine Forms in the Atlantic; No Current Threat to Florida. Don’t Panic.

Tropical Storm Josephine has formed in the Atlantic. Forecast models are favorable for Florida in three ways… the storm is not currently expected to strengthen beyond a Tropical Storm, it’s currently expected to encounter hostile conditions and dissipate before becoming a direct threat to the mainland, and it’s currently expected to curve to the north before it reaches the state. As with any tropical system, we’ll need to keep an eye on it as it progresses on its journey. We’re rapidly approaching the historical peak of the hurricane season and atmospheric conditions are generally expected to be supportive of an extremely active peak season… so even if Josephine is not our storm, another one in the future could be. Keep calm and carry on!
