The Storm Prediction Center says there’s a marginal risk (level 1 out of 5) of severe weather in the Attractions Area on Friday evening, with conditions this late afternoon and early evening being most favorable.
According to a Mesoscale Discussion for the Orlando Metro area issued at 4:08 PM, “a couple of strong to severe thunderstorms, posing a risk for large hail and locally strong surface gusts, are possible late this afternoon, and could impact the Greater Orlando Metropolitan area into the Space Coast by 6-7 PM EDT. While a severe weather watch is not currently anticipated, trends will be monitored.”
The primary risks appear to be damaging winds (5% – 14% chance of 58+ MPH winds within 25 miles of where you are) and hail (5% – 14% chance of 1+ inch hail within 25 miles). The tornado risk is less than 2%.
